Childproof doorknob cover

So, I don't know what kind of kids this "childproof" doorknob cover is designed for, but it doesn't fool Andre. Sure, it is tough to figure out that there are 2 holes, where you need to place your fingers and twist the knob, however Andre found an easier way. Today, I was doing the laundry, and while Harper was taking a nap and Andre was watching cartoons, I went back to change the loads charging Andre to stay put and thinking that the "chilpproof" doorknob will prevent Andre from leaving. In less than two minutes since I left the apartment, I heard Andre's voice and it didn't sound like it was coming from behind the closed door. I rushed back to check what was going and sure enough Andre was outside calling for me, when I walked him back inside, I discovered the dismantled doorknob laying on the floor. I guess it's not that hard after all for a two and a half year old to figure out how to work that thing. I guess it was only meant to work for babies.
Now I officially don't have a method of containing Andre inside of the apartment, as he can unlock the doorknob and the dead bolt locks, as well as the chain!!! Advice, anyone?

How does he unlock the deadbolt? Does he climb on the table next to the door? If so, I would be moving that table.

He can actually reach the deadbolt, he can't reach the chain on his own. However, moving the table won't help anything. Unfortunately he is smarter than that, and if I move the table, he'll just find something else to pull up to the door to reach it.

Wow! What a clever little one! We've dealt with alot of craziness, but not that yet, thank goodness! Sorry I don't have advice! Good luck!

I had to install a chain at the top of our front door when I came home on a Saturday morning at about 7:30 am (from weight watchers) to find Bryan, Max and Sophie sleeping in their beds and Calvin missing (he was 2). I found him out in the not fenced backyard in his footed pajamas digging in my flowerbed.

Handcuff him to a chair. Or try one of those electronic shock collars. Or get him a job as a professional escape artist.

Sorry, no good advice, but we've had the same problem. I bought those a few weeks ago and within a few minutes of having put one on the door, Sophia had just ripped it off the door handle.
