Pardon the mess, but since my back went out last week I am unable to pick up (without experiencing severe pain) things that get thrown on the floor, so the job is left for Jeff when he gets back from work. This video was taken minutes after he walked in.

This is Harpers favorite chair - he loves to climb it and also use it as a step to climbing taller objects.

Harper is ONE!

That's right, Harper is officially not a baby anymore, and I officially do not have an excuse for carrying around extra weight. Harper is our sweet little boy, who loves to laugh and play.

Here are his doc stats:

Weight - 22 lbs 3 oz - 41%
Height - 31 in - 85%

His head circumference went from 64th percentile 3 months ago to 93rd - man, that kid either is forming a ton of synapses and getting smarter by the day, or he is turning into a tadpole.

New things he does:

• He is almost walking - give him another week or so and he will be on the move (video of it deserves its own post)
• Stands for extended periods of time
• When asked where is the light, he points to it
• Same with 'mouth', if we ask him "what's in your mouth?" he immediately takes out whatever it is he has in there
• He is our crazy climber, and climbs almost anything. The other day he climbed onto Andre's chair and from there proceeded and succeeded at climbing onto the glider.

Harpers favorite toys are balls - in any shape, size or form- and SOCKS! No wonder I can hardly find any kids' paired socks!

The pictures of cake eating and party are to come, since we are having it on May 2nd.

Andre's class

Last Wednesday I took Andre to try out a free class at the local rec center and Andre liked it so much that we signed him up for it. The class is called 'mini sports', they meet once a week for a 45-minute class. There are 5 other boys enrolled. They get to run around, kick, throw and whatever else you can do to a ball - what boy wouldn't like it. Andre is the youngest in the class (on the paper the class is for 3-5 year olds) and so he has some following directions issues - why is it that he can't climb the tree when the teacher tells everyone to run, what's so wrong with that? Maybe Andre will become more obedient after this - fingers crossed.

According to forecast it was supposed to be mid-70s and partly cloudy, it was 95 and all sun. Hence, we spent half of our time on the water playgrounds in California Adventures.

I made the liners for Andre's and Harper's easter baskets and I think they turned out pretty cute.

We had a little easter egg hunt around our apartment, which Andre enjoyed quite a bit

Одной из традиций также является поиск пасхальных яиц (пластиковые яйца-пустышки заполненые конфетами, шоколадками и маленькими игрушками). Я запрятала яйца по нашей квартире и Андрей насладился поиском и поеданием :)

We also did some egg coloring. Andre loved it and if we had unlimited amount of eggs he would probably keep on doing it until he fell asleep

On the side note, I figured out how to get Andre to smile cutely for the camera. Usually, if you say 'smile' to Andre, he squints his eyes, scrunches his nose and smiles - cute for a couple of pictures, but to have that face on every singly picture - it gets old. So I told him to 'laugh' and he gave me some awesome smiles. Next time I just have to remember to say 'laugh' instead of 'smile'.

Я наконец-то выяснила как можно Андрея попросить симпатично улыбнуться. Обычно когда я ему говорю "улыбнись" он сжимает глаза, морщит нос и таким образом своеобразно улыбается. Когда я ему сказала "смейся" он мне хорошо красиво улыбнулся.

Reaching milestones

Andre is potty trained, I guess more so day potty trained, but even then he wakes up wet from the night only about once or twice a week. Andre went from 6 stickers on his potty chart (he gets them for going #2) to now 12 in a week's time (it took him at least a month and a half to earn the six)! We still have accidents, but very rarely. Yipee!

В конце концов, после долгих мучений мамы, я могу всем сообщить что Андрей приучен к горшку. Иногда все еще бывают "случаи", но достаточно редко. Ура!

Yesterday (April 2nd) Harper took his first steps - two of them to be exact. If not for my friend who happened to be looking at him at the time, I probably would have missed it. He must have stood without holding on to anything for about 10 seconds and then took two little steps before lowering himself down. Exciting to see him reach this milestone, but also sad - my cute sweet little Harper will hit terrible twos before I know it.

On the note of firsts, Harper got his first haircut on Tuesday - nothing big, I just cut his little stringy mullet, and even with such a subtle change he looks much older to me.
