Music Makers

Ever since we moved to LA, Andre and I have been going to the MusicMakers - a Mommy & Me music class for toddlers. Andre really enjoys the signing, marching, dancing - all of it. Unfortunately we finished up until the end of the summer, as a lot of people attending are moving or going away.

Cute little Harper on our walkAs I had to walk to the class (which is very good for my pospartum fat body :) I thought I would take a picture of the pretty flowers.

Harper's Blessing

We blessed Harper this past Sunday, so Harper Chalmers is official now. For those of you who don't know our church schedule - it is awful. Church starts at 12:20 pm with Relief Society and Priesthood, our Sacrament goes from 2:20 to 3:20 pm. Andre's look says it all (he doesn't get to take his regular 11:30 am nap until after church.)

Fun Day

We had a fun day yesterday. We went to Manhattan Beach, it was a bit chilly and windy, but it was sure nice to sit on the warm sand. Andre had a lot of fun looking at the water, running on the sand, playing with his sand toys, and playing catch with Dad and Grandpa. He was really excited about going to the beach, he kept repeatedly saying "beach", "ocean", and the inhabitants of the latter - "Nemo", "Dori" and "whale".

One of the favorites - throwing sand up into the air

Andre decided to follow the tracks of the lifeguard truck, and if Jeff were not to go and get him, he would have gone far far away. He caught him about 300 yards away from where we were. Andre never happened to look back.
It was Harper's first time at the beach, he slept through most of it

After the beach we went to Jeff's parents hotel, where Andre got to swim. Andre loves swimming, and I think if it was for up to him, he would stay in the pool all day long.
Splashing!

Andre is a very brave fearless kid. He loved jumping off the side into the pool. We still have to work on him jumping in only when we are there, as he ran off from Jeff and jumped into the pool a few feet away from him. He stayed under water for a couple of seconds, until Jeff got to him. Pretty scary. I guess we should get him those arm cuffs that will help him stay afloat.

Randomness

So I do not know how I would survive with two kids were my parents not here. They are such great help. Andre loves being with them, he calls them by their first names, which they love (I guess it makes them feel younger, not being called Grandma and Grandpa:). He loves to play with my Dad, as they both run around the house like crazy. I have no idea where my Dad gets that kind of energy, but I am sure I cannot match it once my Dad is gone in 2 weeeks :(. It is also great to have my Mom cook for us - which only gives me the responsibility of caring for the little one. I am one lucky girl.Doing puzzles. Andre loves to put it together with my Dad, he actually got pretty good at it.

My parents take Andre for walks every day
The other day Andre came into our bedroom with crazy bed hair. He also decided he wanted to hold Harper, to my surprise Andre has been (so far) very gently with HarperSince I wasn't too persistent with tummy time for Andre (which probably explains why Andre walked before he crawled), I decided to be better at it with Harper.

Our precious little one

Our little Harper is such a good little baby, I guess it also makes it easier the second time around as I am not stressed out about silly little things. He is a great little eater, he eats every 2-3 hours; he sleeps great at night, waking up exactly every 3 hours to eat and going right back to sleep (hence I don't feel sleep deprived). We are so grateful for a gift we've been given, what a blessing he is to our family.
