Solids

Yesterday Harper was introduced to the world of food other than milk. We tried giving him rice cereal. He definitely wasn't as eager to eat as Andre was back in the days, and I would say he neither liked or disliked the cereal - he was quite indifferent.Ready to eat

'What is it?'
Yum...
...or maybe not
Oh yeah, the great Mom that I am, I forgot to put the bib on the kid and diluted the cereal out with water, rather than with formula or breast milk like they suggest. I only remembered that after the fact - I guess I should pull the books out and get a refresher.

Andre decided to provide some dinner entertainment for Harper, by jumping on the table.. and making silly faces
Which I have to say Harper enjoyed quite a bit (here he is staring at his brother).
I also managed to remeber that the kid needed the bib, which I retrieved and put on him almost at the very end of his feeding... haha

Catching up

Due to Andre and Harper getting sick I hadn't had a chance to post in the last couple of weeks. But really nothing new is happenning. The boys are growing fast. Harper likes his tummy time and tries to crawl, with no results yet, but I am guessing he will pretty soon.
Andre is talking more and more. He picks up on things really fast. A couple of days ago he decided that it was time for me to go to bed, so he said "Mommy, listen, Mommy. Go to bed now!" and he started pushing me into the bedroom. He's a funny little guy.
A week or so ago he told me he was going to go wash his hands. He emerged 20 minutes later with the phrase "Oh, nuts!" The kid was soaked from head to toe. I just never know (and don't want to know) what kind of mischief he'll get into next.
He also decided to take care of his little brother. Thinking eating just milk wasn't filling enough for Harper, he decided to take Harper's nutrition in his hands. While I was at my friend's Natalie's house, I all of a sudden heard Harper trying to "spit out" - sure enough I went up to him, and pulled out of his mouth a whole piece of Honeycomb cereal. I explained to Andre that it was a no-no and that he is not to do it again. Well, what do you know, about a week later Andre comes up to me and announces :"Harper eat chocolate" - I thought he was asking me to give Harper some chocolate. As I started to explain to him once again why Harper doesn't need chocolate, I noticed a box of Cocoa Puffs out of the corner of my eye. I hurried over to Harper and as I got to him I saw him spit out nothing else, but a cocoa puff. Wow, can I get a pair of eyes on the back of my head?
Doesn't this look like the most comfortable position to sleep in?
Oh my gosh, I almost forgot - I do have exciting news! My parents are coming in November!!! They are going to Hawaii, but not without stopping in L.A. and spending almost 2 weeks with us! Hooray!!!

Aww

Today my knee went out once again (5th time in the last couple of months) and I was sitting and wrapping it with an ace bandage. When Andre saw me do it, he got a really concerned look on his face and said: "Owie, Mommy?" I said "Yes sweetie, Mommy hurt her knee" and continued wrapping. Andre kept watching with much interest and concern. When I was done, he said: "All done! Good job a Mommy! Hooray!" Then a second later he looked down, pointed at his right knee and said "Andre try?" So I cut a small piece of ace bandage and wrapped it around his knee, upon completion of which I once again received praises. He kept the ace bandage in solidarity with me until it got loose and fell off on its own a few hours later. My sweet boy!
